Golf Impact Screens at The Indoor Golf Shop

Golf Impact Screens for Golf Simulators

A golf impact screen stops your full shots and shows the ball flight from your projector, so it has to be tough, quiet and sharp. We cut and sew our SIGPRO screens in-house in four aspect ratios, from 7'7" x 7'7" up to 10' x 17'6". The SIGPRO Premium is our best seller, a 3.54mm triple-layer screen that beat the market's most popular screen in MyGolfSpy testing. The gray SIGPRO Premier holds contrast in brighter rooms, and the single-layer SIG Preferred starts at $187.99. Custom sizes are one of our most popular options, made to the exact width and height of your frame.

How to Choose a Golf Impact Screen

Start with the material, since it decides noise, bounce back, image quality and how long the screen lasts. Then match the aspect ratio to your projector and buy the largest size your space allows.

SIGPRO Premier (gray)Rooms with ambient light from windows, garage doors or overhead lightsSame triple-layer build as Premium. Gray negative gain keeps contrast in bright rooms. White looks better in a dark room.

Questions we hear most

Golf Impact Screen FAQs

What is the best golf impact screen?

For most home simulators we recommend the SIGPRO Premium. It is a 3.54mm triple-layer screen: two tight-knit polyester faces with vertical spacer yarns between them. In MyGolfSpy's head-to-head test it beat the market's most popular screen on durability, screen sag, image clarity, bounce back and sound level. It was also our best-selling impact screen of 2026, and the gray SIGPRO Premier was second.

If your room has windows, a garage door or overhead lights you keep on, look at the gray SIGPRO Premier. It uses the same triple-layer material in a gray color that holds contrast in brighter rooms.

Can I get a custom size golf impact screen?

Yes. We make custom SIGPRO Premium screens to the width and height you need, finished with double-stitched black vinyl edges and grommets so they mount with ball bungees, zip ties or shock cord. A custom gray SIGPRO Premier is also available for rooms with ambient light.

Measure the inside of your frame first, then use our screen specs page or screen size calculator to plan the size. The custom SIGPRO Premium carries a 1-year residential warranty against rips and tears from ball strikes.

How much does a golf simulator impact screen cost?

Our screens start at $187.99 for a SIG Preferred screen with finished edges. Price goes up with size and aspect ratio, so a wide 16:9 screen costs more than a square 1:1 screen of the same height. The triple-layer SIGPRO Premium costs more than the Preferred, and the gray SIGPRO Premier costs more than the Premium. Custom sizes are priced to your measurements.

What size impact screen do I need for my golf simulator?

Buy the largest screen your space allows. Our finished screens come in heights of 7'7", 8', 8'7", 9', 9'6" and 10', and widths up to 17'6" on a 16:9 screen. Our spec page lists the outer size, viewable size and suggested bungee count for each one.

For our enclosures, the SIG8 uses the 8' x 8' screen, the SIG10 the 8' x 10'6" and the SIG12 the 9' x 11'10". Our screen size calculator shows the image your projector will throw at your distance.

Should I get a 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10 golf simulator screen?

Match your screen to your projector's native aspect ratio. Every projector has one, and it is the setting that shows the most pixels and the best resolution. If you set a projector to a different ratio, for example a 16:10 projector squeezed onto a 4:3 screen, you lose pixels and image quality.

4:3 screens are popular in homes because they fit standard room widths. 16:9 and 16:10 suit wider rooms and 4K images, and they double as a home theater. No projector is native 1:1, so a square screen means adjusting your projector settings.

Is a gray or white impact screen better?

It depends on your light. The gray SIGPRO Premier is negative gain. It lowers screen brightness but raises contrast, so the image stays clearer when ambient light hits the screen. The white SIGPRO Premium gives a brighter, sharper image in a dark room.

If you can black out the room, go white. If you play with the lights on or have windows or a garage door, go gray.

What are golf simulator screens made of?

Our SIGPRO Premium and Premier screens use a spacer mesh fabric. Two heavy-duty, tight-knit polyester surfaces sandwich vertical spacer yarns. Those yarns cushion the ball, which cuts noise and bounce back, and the smooth face gives a crisp image up to 4K with minimal bleed-through.

The SIG Preferred is a single layer of tightly woven, impact-resistant polyester treated with reinforcement. It is 0.81mm thick, compared with 3.54mm for the Premium.

How far should a golf impact screen be from the wall?

Leave open space behind the screen so it can flex and spread the force of each shot across the whole surface. Never let memory foam, weighted blankets or other padding touch the back of the screen. That focuses each strike on one spot, wears the screen fast and is not covered by the warranty. Our blackout screen is the exception: it is made to attach to the rear of a white screen.

How do I hang a golf impact screen?

Finished screens have 2.5" vinyl edges with grommets around the perimeter. Hang them from your frame with ball bungees, zip ties or shock cord. Ball bungees work best, and we include 6" ball bungees with our SIG enclosures. Raw screen material has no border, so it mounts with tarp clips instead.

For a DIY frame we suggest 1" EMT with tent canopy fittings, the simplest and lowest-cost option. Strut channel, angle iron, 2x4 wood and 40mm or 45mm aluminum extrusion also work.

Do you sell a retractable golf impact screen for a garage?

Yes. The G-TRAK Retractable Screen mounts to your garage door tracks with patented brackets and does not interfere with the door. Press down on the remote to lower the screen and up to store it, so your cars still fit. It comes in six sizes for 8' to 16' garage doors, with screens from 7' to 14' wide. It is also the screen in our garage golf simulator packages.
